The park is situated on the junction of the Murray River and Gunbower Creek. The park overlooks Gunbower Island red gum state forest which is the largest inland Island in the Southern Hemisphere with an abundance of fauna and flora. 2017 we had a new modern amenities block built. Koondrook shares the Murray with its twin town of Barham (New South Wales)
